Naomi Kokubo is a seasoned entrepreneur, angel investor, and partner at FOUNDERS.VC. As a COO and cofounder of Founders Space, one of the top incubators and accelerators globally, she has helped numerous start-ups scale operations, raise capital, and expand globally. Kokubo is also an LP in August Capital, a leading VC firm. Her passion for entrepreneurship and creating exciting opportunities for start-ups stems from her rich background in various industries.
In 2007, Kokubo served as the COO of virtual world & social media start-up RocketOn, a venture-funded enterprise. Before that, she was the COO of Spiderdance, Hollywood's principal interactive television studio, serving prominent customers such as NBC, TBS, Viacom, and A&E, among others. Naomi, as a cofounder of LavaMind, developed and published online entertainment and games. During her time at Electronic Arts as a Development Director, she managed multimillion-dollar video game titles' development process.
Kokubo's extensive experience working as a Financial Analyst at Morgan Stanley’s Tokyo branch molded her financial acumen. Additionally, in coordinating an international film co-production for NHK of Japan and Grundy Company of Australia while in the film industry, she further strengthened her project management skills.
Naomi is a graduate of Tokyo's International Christian University and has a passion for manga and anime. She has translated dozens of Japanese comic books and animations, enriching her knowledge across industries.
