Shelly Rae Watson is an experienced environmental consultant with over 25 years of private and public sector experience. With expertise in natural resource regulations, she has worked on various commercial and residential developments, fire districts, local cities, and government agencies such as Parks, National Marine Fisheries Service, US Navy, and BNSF. Shelly is known for her quick thinking and problem-solving in difficult situations, making her a valuable addition to any project.
She has studied Zoology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Washington, Organic Chemistry at Shoreline Community College, and has a Master of Science in Management - Project Management from Colorado Technical University. Other achievements include her Project Management Certification from Everett Community College and a range of environmental roles from Wetland and Fisheries Specialist to Senior Scientist and Environmental Manager.
Some of Shelly's past professional experiences include Public Assistance Program Delivery Manager at FEMA, US Army Corps of Engineers Plan Formulator/Project Manager Officer, and former Officer at both the US Department of Homeland Security and Transportation Security Administration (TSA). In the private sector, she has held positions such as Senior Ecologist at GeoEngineers, President and Senior Ecologist/Environmental Manager at S.R. JAY CONSULTING INC., and Vice President and Senior Ecologist/Environmental Manager at The Jay Group, Inc.
