    Mira Schor is a renowned painter and writer with a deep interest in the gendered production of art history, painting in post-modern culture, and the intersection of political and conceptual themes with the materiality of expression.

    Having earned her MFA in painting from CalArts in 1973, Schor boasts an impressive list of honors from prestigious foundations such as Guggenheim, Rockefeller, Marie Walsh Sharpe, and the Pollock-Krasner Foundations.

    Acknowledged for her contributions to the art world, Schor was the recipient of the College Art Association's Frank Jewett Mather Award for Art Criticism in 1999 and a Creative Capital/Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant in 2009, which supported her art and culture blog, A Year of Positive Thinking.
