Mike Williams
Engaged Fargo Citizen
Mike Williams is an engaged citizen with a passion for collaborating with others to achieve common goals. He has been working as a risk manager for Family Mutual Insurance since 2003 and is a certified drone pilot.
From June 2004 to June 2016, Mike served as Fargo City Commissioner in North Dakota, reaching the 3-term limit and also took on the role of Deputy Mayor during his tenure. He was elected in June 2004, 2008, and 2012, showing his dedication to serving the citizens of Fargo.
In addition to his roles in government, Mike has been actively involved in the Fargo Comprehensive Growth Plan since November 2010. The plan focuses on energy efficiency and community development to make Fargo a more vibrant, safe, efficient, sustainable, and attractive city, with set benchmarks to measure progress.
At Family Insurance, now known as Family Mutual Insurance, Mike works on creating sustainable rural economic opportunities and improving efficiency. He specializes in grassroots initiatives, community outreach, renewable energy, conservation advocacy, and outdoor activities.
Mike's organizational experience includes his current position as a Risk Manager/adjuster at Family Mutual Insurance, where he previously also served as a Certified Commercial Drone pilot. His previous role as City Commissioner and Deputy Mayor at the City of Fargo showcases his dedication to public service.
