Mike Shapiro

Mike Shapiro is an accomplished journalist, venture capitalist, and basketball lover with a diverse educational background. He received a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School and a Master of Arts in International Business and Finance/Real Estate from the University of Florida, Warrington College of Business.

Currently, Mike is the Director of Innovation and Venture Investment at Major League Baseball, where he works on identifying and investing in startups that can help revolutionize the game. Before that, he advised at Eniac Network and mentored at SPORTS TECH TOKYO, leveraging his experience in the business world to help budding entrepreneurs accelerate their ideas.

During his career, Mike has held positions at some of the biggest companies in the industry, such as Verizon and the NBA, where he worked in content strategy and acquisition and served as an MBA summer intern, respectively. He has also worked as an MBA associate at Courtside Ventures and as an investment banking analyst at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey.

In addition to his business and investment successes, Mike has a passion for sports and journalism. He has served as an executive producer at Gator Growl and currently works as a staff writer at SINow. Mike has also demonstrated a keen interest in combining his passions, writing articles that cover the intersection of sports and business and even giving talks on the topic.
