Mike Piwowar is an accomplished finance professional, policy advisor, and academic with a diverse background in academia, government, and the private sector. Piwowar has a PhD in Finance from Penn State University and an MBA in Finance from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. He has served as Acting Chairman and Commissioner at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and as a Senior Economist at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Council of Economic Advisers at The White House.

Piwowar is an expert in financial markets and policy, securities regulation, and corporate finance. He is also a Senior Advisor at GTS and a former Board Member and Advisory Board Member of Behavox. Piwowar founded Piwowar Strategic Initiatives LLC and served as a Distinguished Policy Fellow at Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. He is currently the Executive Director of the Center for Financial Markets at the Milken Institute.
