Miguel Quintas is the President of ANAV (Associação Nacional de Agências de Viagens), which is the National Association of Travel Agencies in Portugal.12 He is also the chairman of the Airmet Portugal group.56 Quintas has been actively involved in defending the interests of travel agencies and consumers against what he considers abusive practices by airlines, particularly Ryanair.13 He recently applauded a court decision ruling against Ryanair's cabin bag fees, stating that it reinforces ANAV's stance on protecting consumer rights.24 Quintas has indicated that ANAV is working on further initiatives to ensure greater protection for travel agents and their customers in relation to airline practices.1
