Michael Peil

Michael Peil is an experienced legal professional and educator with a diverse career in international law and academia.12 He currently serves as the Executive Director of the International Law Students Association (ILSA), a position he assumed in April 2022.12

Prior to his current role, Peil was the Vice Dean at Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law in Bhutan from May 2016 to October 2022.1 He played a crucial role as the Founding Vice Dean of this institution, which is the first and only law school in Bhutan.2

Peil has a long-standing association with ILSA and the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, having been involved in various capacities since his time as a law student at Cornell.2 He continues to be active in the Jessup community, recently facilitating the 2023 Jessup Midwest Regional rounds at Loyola University Law School in Chicago3 and participating in discussions about creating Jessup Problems.4
