Michael Masserman

Michael Masserman is a highly experienced professional in international expansion, social impact, and global government affairs. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor at The Albright Stonebridge Group (ASG) in San Francisco, CA, he specializes in advising clients in the technology and innovation sectors on policy, politics, technology, and social impact.
Before joining ASG, Michael was the Head of Global Policy & Social Impact at Lyft, where he spearheaded various initiatives focusing on global market expansion, regulatory development, transportation equity, civic engagement, sustainability, future of work, and smart cities. He also played key roles in building Lyft's Federal and Strategic Partnerships teams.
Prior to his tenure at Lyft, Michael held pivotal positions at the U.S. Department of Commerce, including Executive Director for Export Policy, Promotion & Strategy, where he led efforts to boost U.S. businesses' global competitiveness and increase exports under President Obama's National Export Initiative. He also directed the Office of Advisory Committees & Industry Engagement, advising on trade policies.
Michael's professional journey began in international corporate law at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York, specializing in domestic and cross-border capital markets and securities transactions. His legal career also took him to Sydney, Australia, where he worked on international mergers and acquisitions at Mallesons Stephen Jaques.
Outside his professional roles, Michael is actively involved in various organizations and initiatives. He is a Fellow with the Truman National Security Project, serves on the Boards of SF Travel, 826 National, and the Consumer Technology Association. Additionally, he is the Co-founder of Chasing It All Publishing and Co-Author of the children's book Chasing The Sun.
Michael holds a B.A. with distinction from the University of Michigan and a J.D. cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He also studied International Relations and Middle Eastern Politics at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
