Michael Lio

Michael Lio is an accomplished professional with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in various leadership roles.

He holds a ICD.D, Director Education from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, an M.Eng in building science (civil engineering), and a B.A.Sc in civil engineering specializing in transportation planning and structural design, all from the University of Toronto.

Michael currently serves as the President of buildABILITY Corporation and has previously held positions such as Board Director at Markham District Energy Inc., Principal at Lio & Associates, and Executive Director at the Homeowner Protection Centre of Canada.

His past roles include being involved with organizations like the Home Construction Regulatory Authority, GreenON Fund, EnerTransport Corporation, Tarion Warranty Corporation, and EnerQuality.

Michael Lio has also contributed to academia as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto, an Instructor at Ryerson University - Architecture, and an Instructor at the granton institute of technology.
