Michael Kelly

Michael Kelly is the Chief Executive Officer at observIQ, a position he has held since February 2022. He previously served as the Chief Technology Officer at the same company from July 2020 to February 2022. In his role as CEO, Kelly focuses on developing next-generation open-source observability tools for the DevOps and ITOps communities.12

Kelly has a robust background in the technology industry, with extensive experience in executive leadership, product development, and technical roles. Before joining observIQ, he worked at Blue Medora from 2012 to 2020, where he held various positions including Chief Technology Officer and General Manager of BindPlane. During his tenure at Blue Medora, he was instrumental in developing a cloud-native SaaS observability platform and managing engineering and product teams through significant growth.12

His earlier career includes roles at Burke Porter Group, where he advanced from Software Engineer to Senior Software Engineer, and at Johnson Controls Automotive as an Engineer. Kelly began his professional journey as a Research Assistant at Western Michigan University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.123

In addition to his technical expertise, Kelly holds certifications as an AWS Certified Developer - Associate and an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services.12
