Michael Kelly is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and co-founder of observIQ, a company specializing in open-source observability solutions. He has a strong background in technology and entrepreneurship, with over a decade of experience in software engineering and product development.

Education and Early Career

Kelly earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Computer Engineering from Western Michigan University, where he also worked as a research assistant. His early career included roles at Burke Porter Group, where he developed embedded software systems for the automotive industry, and Johnson Controls Automotive, where he designed automated testing systems for vehicle electrical modules.

Professional Experience

Before founding observIQ, Kelly held significant positions at Blue Medora, including CTO and General Manager of BindPlane. There, he led the development of a cloud-native monitoring platform and was instrumental in the company's growth, expanding the engineering team from 5 to 50 members and managing multiple funding rounds.

At observIQ, Kelly is responsible for shaping the company's technical strategy, executing product roadmaps, and leading the engineering team to develop innovative observability tools for the DevOps and ITOps communities. His leadership and technical expertise have positioned him as a notable figure in the observability space.123
