Michael Bangert-Drowns
Michael Bangert-Drowns is a transportation planner and engineer with a passion for promoting equitable and sustainable solutions to complex transportation problems. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation. Additionally, he has a Minor in Urban Studies, all from Northeastern University. At Arup, he currently works as a Graduate Planner, having previously served as a Transportation Planning Intern. In his previous experience, he held various roles, including Transportation Engineering Co-op at Howard Stein Hudson, Civil Engineering Transportation Co-op at Parsons Corporation, and Front End Customer Service at Price Chopper Supermarkets-Market 32.
Mike is interested in the intersection of transportation, climate resiliency, and equity, where he sees solutions in urban planning as having the ability to address many of the world’s most pressing issues. He has previously served as President of the Northeastern University Institute of Transportation Engineers and the Downhillers clubs. Moreover, he has held the position of Program Coordinator at the Northeastern University Institute of Transportation Engineers and the role of Technical Assistant to the Dean's Office at the University at Albany, SUNY.
