Melissa Jordan

Melissa Jordan is an accomplished communications and marketing professional with over two decades of experience in the media and transportation industries. She holds an MS in Journalism from Columbia University and a BA in Journalism from The University of Georgia. Melissa has worked as a Reporter and News Editor for the Associated Press in Sioux Falls, Minneapolis, and San Francisco. She also served as an Assistant Chief of Bureau for the AP in San Francisco, where she managed a team of reporters and editors.

In the transportation industry, Melissa worked as a Senior Editor for Recruiting and Training at San Jose Mercury News before joining Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) in 2006. At BART, she served as Content Management System SuperUser, Senior Web Producer, and Senior Marketing and Communications Representative before being promoted to Principal Communications and Marketing Representative in 2014. In her current role, Melissa is responsible for managing BART's public website, executing social web strategy, and creating and managing content across various platforms.
