Maya Famodu

Maya Horgan Famodu is a prominent Nigerian-American entrepreneur and venture capitalist, recognized for her significant contributions to the African tech ecosystem. She is the Founder and Managing Director of Ingressive Capital, a venture capital firm that has raised $10 million for its first fund and $50 million for its second fund, focusing on early-stage startups across Sub-Saharan Africa's key tech markets. Under her leadership, Ingressive Capital has invested in notable companies such as Paystack, which was sold to Stripe for over $200 million, and other fast-growing businesses like Mono and Carry1st.137

In addition to her role at Ingressive Capital, Horgan Famodu co-founded Ingressive for Good, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing micro-scholarships, technical skills training, and talent placement for African youth. She also established Ingressive Advisory, which assists international companies in entering and operating in African markets, having facilitated over 60 deals across the continent.256

Horgan Famodu's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Sciences from Pomona College and a Pre-law program at Cornell University. Before founding Ingressive, she worked at JPMorgan Chase and conducted economic research in emerging markets.34
