May Feng, SPHR, SHRM-SCP (she/her)

May Feng, SPHR, SHRM-SCP (she/her) is an experienced HR professional who has played a significant role in Shippo's growth and development. She joined Shippo in 2016 as the Senior Director of People, where she was instrumental in building and managing the entire People function as the company's first HR team member.1

During her tenure at Shippo, May:

• Successfully navigated the company through challenging times, including the COVID-19 pandemic
• Grew the company's headcount from 35 to over 300 employees
• Partnered closely with co-founders and the leadership team on strategic people decisions, organizational design, and change management
• Contributed to Shippo's success in attracting top talent and adapting to a remote-first environment1

May holds professional certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Senior Certified Professional from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP). She received her education from the University of California, Berkeley.1

Prior to joining Shippo, May held various HR roles at Nextag, including Senior HR Generalist/HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, and Recruiter. In these positions, she collaborated with international leadership teams, supported workforce reduction, and led full-cycle recruiting.1

May's expertise spans various HR areas, including employee relations, performance management, engagement, organizational/cultural development, workforce planning, compensation and equity management, change management, succession planning, immigration processing, and recruiting.
