Maura Shirey is a Registered Nurse and Certified Pregnancy Fitness Educator with a passion for women's health and wellness. She is the Creator and Owner of Bodies for Birth™, providing safe and methodical fitness and wellness support appropriate for all levels of fitness and stages of motherhood.

Maura Shirey studied B.A., English, Theatre Arts at Boston College, and Associates in Applied Arts and Science, Nursing, 3.6 at Shoreline Community College. She also studied Pre-Requisites for Nursing Program, Health Sciences at North Seattle College. She possesses vast professional experience, including being a former Registered Nurse (RN2) and NURSE TECHNICIAN at the University of Washington Medical Center, former Personal Trainer at Harbor Square Athletic Club, and former Owner at Bodies for Birth. In addition, she has spoken publicly as an educator at Bodies for Birth and worked as a PROFESSIONAL NANNY and with PROFESSIONAL HEALTH RELATED EXPERIENCE and PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE at various employers.

Maura is an Account Manager at Fit For Birth Inc. She believes that with greater support, education, and wellness, we can achieve better health outcomes for communities at large. Her ultimate mission is to improve maternal health outcomes, striving to do exactly this--one mom and baby at a time.
