Matt Wilsey

Matt Wilsey is the CEO and Co-Founder of Grace Science, LLC, a biotechnology company focused on developing novel therapies based on the function of NGLY1, a key enzyme involved in proteostasis.23 He is a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, angel investor, and start-up advisor who invests in and advocates for biomedical research, drug development, and genetic sequencing technologies.12

Wilsey's journey into rare disease research began when his daughter, Grace, was diagnosed with NGLY1 Deficiency in 2013.14 This led him to become a "rare disease hunter" and advocate, funding nearly 75 scientists at 20 medical centers in 5 countries to research the disease.1

Prior to Grace Science, Wilsey's career included:

• Co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer of CardSpring (acquired by Twitter)
• West coast sales and business development at Howcast.com
• Working at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) on the Capital Markets team
• Co-founder and Vice President of Business Development at Zazzle.com
• Roles at the White House and the Department of Defense12

Wilsey holds a B.A. and M.B.A. from Stanford University.1 He serves on the boards of several organizations, including the Grace Science Foundation, Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation, The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health, Global Genes, and the EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases.2
