Matt Wayland

Matt Wayland is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in the electrical industry, particularly in his roles within the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Canada. He started his career as a Construction and Maintenance Electrical apprentice in the Niagara Region, eventually progressing to various leadership positions within IBEW Local 303, including serving as the President. His current position as the full-time Political Action/Media Strategist at IBEW Canada allows him to provide valuable training, education, and support to union leaders and members across the nation, shaping a robust grassroots political program. Matt's proactive approach has led to strong relationships with officials at various levels of government and community organizations, emphasizing the importance of political engagement for trade, training, safety, and career opportunities.
