Highlights
Last week was my last week at HubSpot (and @clearbit).
For 12 years, I've worked on one core problem: understanding and measuring every business on the internet.
At Clearbit, we built a graph of companies, people, and intent signals so B2B teams could replace gut feel with data.
We worked with the top 1% of marketers and had a front row seat to how the teams at Stripe, Atlassian, Rippling, Meta, and HubSpot use data to win.
When HubSpot came knocking ~2 years ago we jumped at the opportunity to scale our ambition.
Today, across Enrichment, Intent Signals, and Data Agent, over 150,000 HubSpot customers are using Clearbit data to win.
Leaving, I am incredibly proud of what we accomplished, and deeply grateful to the team who helped us succeed at HubSpot.
So what’s next?
I’m taking what I learned about data, and applying it to a problem that I've been thinking about all my life, education.
I grew up in a family of educators, teachers, and administrators. Since GPT-3.5, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about how AI will help fix education.
Education has a measurement problem. We don’t actually know what students are capable of. Grades, tests, and credentials are lossy, delayed, and bad proxies for real human skill.
For the last decade plus, my job was turning messy, unstructured data into clear, actionable B2B signals. Now we're doing the same for learning.
My co-founder @AaronIRasmussen and I are building the data layer for human aptitude.
If you’re interested in fixing education, give me a shout. We’re hiring.
