Insurance Underwriting Specialist 

Joining Markerstudy as Product Head for non-standard motor in 2010 I managed their Private Car and Commercial Vehicle non-standard and adverse screen driven products, which I grew from £4m to £25m in 2 years. Further promotion within the group led to my position as Product Head which managed c.£500m GWP.
Main responsibilities were;
Setting the Underwriting and Pricing Strategy for the private car and commercial motor portfolio in line with Group financial plans, leading and developing a team of 25 staff to implement underwriting and pricing to achieve financial return on c£500m gross written premium, supporting the development of sophisticated models and rating tools to market and deployment of ‘In House’ Pricing sophistication into the broker market. The role also included preparation and delivery of business plans at top and bottom line and modelling of commission and profitability commercial terms to deliver growth and profitability to the Group.
Experience gained of managing and turning around the performance of a previously unprofitable Norwegian MGA.

Head of Personal Lines Underwriting

Responsibility for financial growth and performance management of all schemes to meet volume and profitability objectives. Responsible for overseeing QBE’s regulatory, risk, governance and outsourcing framework, management of Software house updates, supporting Broker relationships and I led the design, testing and implementation of QBE’s first electronically traded motor product. 
I was technical lead in internal and external negotiations and successfully developed the product to gross written premium of £15m over a 5 year period.

Senior Product Underwriter (Non-Standard)

Led and developed a team of 12 bespoke underwriters to manage the private car book. Built relationships and knowledge of the major software houses. Dealing extensively with CDL, OGI and SSP.
In addition to private car, I also develop a rating basis for commercial vehicle.

Responsibility for the Branch delivering the financial plans set at Group Level and management and development of 5 staff
