Matt Randolph
Completions and Well Intervention Supervisor
Matt Randolph is a History Ph.D. candidate at Stanford University, specializing in the intellectual, political, and cultural history of the African Diaspora, particularly in the Americas and Europe. He serves as the Co-Founder and Graduate Coordinator of the Caribbean Studies Reading Group (CSRG), an interdisciplinary group aimed at promoting scholarly discourse about Caribbean history, culture, and ideas among students at Stanford.1
In addition to his role with CSRG, Matt is also a graduate coordinator for the Black Studies Collective and a graduate fellow for the Program in African & African American Studies at Stanford. He has been actively involved in various academic initiatives, including serving on the board of the graduate research workshop CORE (Critical Orientations to Race and Ethnicity) from 2020 to 2021. His work extends beyond academia; he is passionate about storytelling and community-building, contributing to public history projects in the Bay Area and volunteering for organizations like the African American Museum and Library at Oakland.1
