Mate Beštek

Dr. Mate Bestek is a highly experienced professional with a background in healthcare interoperability, semantic interoperability, architecture, blockchain, innovation, and various other areas.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Ljubljana and is a PhD Candidate in Information Technology from IT-Universitetet i København.

Mate Bestek has held key roles in several prestigious organizations, including 3fs d.o.o. as the Healthcare and Life Sciences Lead, IRYO.IO as an Advisor, and the Ministry of Health of Republic of Slovenia as the National Cancer Control Programme IT Group Lead.

His extensive experience also includes positions such as the National eHealth Lead at the Center for Healthcare Informatics, Ministry of Health of Republic of Slovenia, and roles as a Secretary, Subject Matter Expert, and Project Manager on various eHealth projects at both national and EU levels.

Previously, he served as a Researcher, Chief architect, and Lead Software Development Engineer at the University of Primorska, Andrej Marusic Institute, as well as in leadership roles at Medius d.o.o., SRC, and as a Software Development Engineer at SRC.

Mate Bestek's expertise includes artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, psychology, health innovation, value proposition canvas, business model canvas, design, design research, design thinking, and digital health platforms.
