Marsha Firestone
President and Founder, Women Presidents' Organization and Women Presidents' Educational Organization
Marsha Firestone, Ph.D., is the founder and president of the Women Presidents' Organization (WPO), a peer-advisory group established in 1997 for women entrepreneurs who own and lead multimillion-dollar businesses. She is a recognized expert in entrepreneurship and has been instrumental in creating a supportive network for women in leadership roles. Prior to founding WPO, Dr. Firestone held various positions, including Vice President of Women Incorporated and Vice President of Training and Counseling at the American Woman’s Economic Development Corporation (AWED). She is also the author of The Busy Woman’s Guide to Successful Self-Employment and has published research in business and educational journals.
Dr. Firestone has received numerous awards for her contributions to women in business, including the Enterprising Women Hall of Fame award and the WBENC Applause Award. She served as an official U.S. representative to the OECD in 2003 and the APEC Women’s Network in 2006. Dr. Firestone earned her Ph.D. in Communication from Columbia University and is an expert in adult learning theory, nonverbal communication, and managerial competency.124
