Mark Sanderson is an accomplished researcher specializing in information retrieval (IR) with a particular focus on web search engines.
His research work spans various areas within IR, including cross-language IR (CLIR), summarization, human interaction and search, image retrieval by captions, and word sense ambiguity.
Mark's expertise lies in evaluating searching systems, and he is actively involved in teaching courses related to IR and usability.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from the University of Glasgow.
Currently, Mark Sanderson serves as the Interim Dean of the School of Computing Technologies at RMIT University.
