Mark Robertson

Mark Robertson is an American historian specializing in California and the American West with a keen interest in public service and digital history advancements. His current project, Gilded Empire, includes a historical blog on San Francisco along with a companion print article and public presentations.

Mark's educational background includes a Master of Arts (M.A.) in American History & Museum Studies from San Jose State University, a BA in History of the Americas from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies from Columbia Community College.

Throughout his career, Mark has been involved in various organizations and roles, including being an Adjunct Professor at Modesto Junior College and Chabot-Las Positas Community College District. He has also worked as a History/English Teacher at Lydian Academy, LLC, a Library Page/Archivist Assistant at San Jose Public Library, a Mentor/Tutor/LaTeX Programmer at Academic Trainers, and a Volunteer at Saratoga History Museum. In addition, he has previous experience as a Chef at Steamers Grillhouse, Mia's Restaurant, and as the Head Chef at Back Street Bar & Grill.
