Mark Chaffin

Mark Chaffin is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Flowers Foods, Inc., a major producer of fresh packaged bakery foods in the United States. He was officially appointed to this role on February 4, 2020, after serving as the interim CIO since September 2019. In his capacity as CIO, Chaffin is responsible for overseeing the company's information technology strategy and operations, reporting directly to the CFO and Chief Administrative Officer, R. Steve Kinsey.124

Chaffin has a robust background in information technology and business strategy. Before joining Flowers Foods, he was a partner at Fortium Partners, where he specialized in IT strategy, business process improvement, and technology commercialization. He has also held CIO positions at sgsco, a global design and marketing company, and Acosta Sales and Marketing, which provides sales and marketing services to the food and beverage industry. Additionally, Chaffin founded Florida Technology, focusing on business intelligence and application development, and he was instrumental in establishing the business intelligence practice for Avanade, a joint venture between Accenture and Microsoft.1245
