Mark Buckles

Mark David Buckles is a versatile and accomplished musician based in Boston. His roles include being a conductor, composer, music educator, multi-instrumentalist, and worship leader.

Mark serves as the Director of Music at Arlington Street Church (Unitarian Universalist) and as the Music Director of The Sanctuary Boston. He is also affiliated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he works as a Lecturer and Affiliated Artist.

A member of Gamelan Galak Tika, Mark is known for his performances and worship leadership characterized by reverence and infectious energy. He is also highly regarded as a composer and arranger, particularly in choral, vocal, and instrumental music.

Mark holds a Masters of Music in Conducting from the Boston University College of Fine Arts and a Bachelors of Music in Composition from the University of Michigan School of Music. He received recognition for his studies in counterpoint and harmony in Paris and completed the Conductors' Institute at Bard College.
