Daniel Gee
Assistant Professor of Music, Westmont College
Daniel Gee is an accomplished conductor, composer, and music educator known for his work with various choirs and orchestras.
He currently serves as the Director of the Westmont College Choir and Westmont Chamber Singers, as well as the Assistant Conductor for the Long Beach Symphony and Associate Conductor for Choral Arts Initiative.
In addition to his conducting roles, Daniel is a dedicated educator, holding the position of Assistant Professor of Music at Westmont College on a full-time, tenure-track basis.
His teaching experience includes both upper and lower division music theory and private composition instruction.
As a composer, Daniel has received commissions from prestigious groups such as the Quire of Voyces, Santa Barbara Choral Society, and Westridge School Chamber Orchestra.
He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) and a Master of Music in Choral Music from the University of Southern California, as well as a B.A. in Music Composition and Philosophy, Summa Cum Laude, from Westmont College.
Daniel Gee has an extensive background in music education and has held various positions such as Assistant Professor of Music, Assistant Conductor, Associate Conductor, Conducting Fellow, Cello Sectional Coach, Adjunct Instructor, and Choir Director at different organizations and institutions.
His diverse experience includes work with the Long Beach Symphony, Choral Arts Initiative, Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestras, Evergreen Baptist Church SGV, and more.
Daniel's passion for music extends beyond conducting and teaching to composing and performing as a cellist, showcasing his versatile talent and deep commitment to the arts.
