Mark Alldritt

Mark Alldritt is a veteran developer with over 40 years of experience in various software domains.2 He is the owner of Late Night Software Ltd., a company he established in 1995 with his late wife Gerry Tubin.2 Alldritt is best known for developing Script Debugger, a popular AppleScript development tool that has been in use for over 30 years.4

As the host and operator of MacScripter.net, Alldritt manages the largest source of information concerning AppleScript, with over 30,000 members and 175,000 posts.5 In 2022, he took over responsibility for MacScripter.net and has been working on transitioning the forum to more modern software to ensure its longevity.1

Alldritt's company, Late Night Software, has developed several significant macOS products, including FaceSpan, Affrus, and ScripZ.2 Recently, he has been involved in developing mobile applications for brain health measurement, which led to the creation of two startups: BrainWave Software and Insight Labs.2

On January 3, 2025, Alldritt announced the retirement of Script Debugger after a remarkable 30-year run.34 Despite this, he continues to be active in the software development community, sharing his knowledge through his blog and maintaining the MacScripter forum.67
