Marcus Willems is a seasoned professional with a strong background in security and a passion for improving procedures, organization, and technology to achieve business goals. With a career spanning diverse projects, Marcus has been actively involved in enhancing security measures since 2008 when he re-entered the security domain within a large financial institution's Security Operations Center (SOC). His hands-on experience includes working with various SIEM tools like Envision, Qradar, and ArcSight, as well as utilizing Wireshark for network traffic analysis to develop IPS filters for mitigating DDoS attacks. In recent years, Marcus has focused on building a mature SOC and has taken on leadership roles overseeing security monitoring, incident management, and threat management teams, emphasizing the importance of well-trained and motivated personnel in maximizing the effectiveness of technology and tools.
