Program Manager at Brighter Bites

As Senior Program Manager, I oversee the implementation of our program across 30 elementary schools in the Dallas area. I recruit for new campuses and interview school administration teams prior to a new school year. 

Over time, I monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to evaluate how the city is performing overall as well as down to the individual school level. 

In this role, I supervise six full-time employees through a mixture of remote and in-person work.

Senior Program Manager

As Program Manager I coordinate scheduling, logistics, and operations with transportation teams at the North Texas Food Bank, Brothers Produce, and FreshPoint Dallas in order to serve our 20 elementary schools in the Dallas area. In conjunction with our sourcing manager, I relay produce availability on a weekly basis to the warehouse team at the North Texas Food Bank. 

During the program's open application cycle, I present a program overview to potential new schools and conduct interviews with the administration team as part of the selection process.

I directly supervise a team of five part-time employees and conduct semi-annual quality control checks on-site.

Brighter Bites aims to create communities of health through fresh food. As a program coordinator, I go to different sites once a week and work with parent volunteers to bag produce for families. Every family goes home with 30 pounds of fresh produce a week for a 16 week period. 

My main focus is the fun food experience pillar of the program, which aims to create a fun food experience for everyone involved. I lead my team in weekly recipe preparation for all fifteen of our sites, with a different recipe being showcased every week..

During weekly produce pickups, Brighter Bites creates a fun food experience for the whole family, demonstrating colorful recipes and passing out samples that incorporate that week’s fresh produce. Our mission is to show that what’s inherently good can taste incredibly great!

I lead the Dallas team on social media efforts as well, by posting on a weekly basis on our Facebook and Instagram accounts.
