Madeleine Gabriel is a seasoned professional with a background in social innovation, public health, and program evaluation.
She is currently the Mission Director for A Sustainable Future at Nesta, where she leads a team focusing on international projects that leverage innovation to enhance social outcomes.
Prior to her current role, Madeleine held positions such as Head of Inclusive Innovation at Nesta, Head of Impact, Research and Evaluation at UnLtd, Programme Director at Shared Intelligence, and Editorial Assistant at Oxford University Press.
Her expertise includes researching open innovation in health, frugal innovation's implications for Europe, social innovation policy, and supporting innovation in international development.
Madeleine has extensive experience evaluating social policies and programs, utilizing evidence to influence policy decisions, and developing tools and guides for program assessment and development.
She has a strong interest in public health and health inequality and has a background in business development, research commissioning, and project management.
Madeleine studied History at the University of Cambridge for her BA Hons and completed her MSc in Public Health at Queen Mary University of London.
In 2015, she edited a book on social innovation research, which was subsequently published by Palgrave Macmillan.
