Lynn Evans
Curator of Archaeology at Mackinac State Historic Parks
Lynn Evans is an accomplished individual with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in the field of archaeology and museum studies.
Lynn holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in American Civilization with a focus on Historical Archaeology from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania. Prior to that, Lynn completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Anthropology/Museum Studies at Beloit College.
With a passion for archaeology, Lynn has held various positions at Mackinac State Historic Parks, including Curator of Archaeology, Assistant Curator of Archaeology, Research Assistant, Archaeology Field Supervisor, and Archaeology Crew member. Lynn's expertise and dedication have been evident in these roles, contributing significantly to the preservation and presentation of archaeological findings.
Lynn has also contributed to academia through roles such as Teaching Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania and as part of the Archaeology Field School Staff at Old Sturbridge Village. Additionally, Lynn has gained valuable experience through internships at Cliveden, a National Trust Historic Site, and as a Staff Assistant at the Beloit Historical Society.
With a strong academic foundation and practical experience in archaeology and museum studies, Lynn Evans continues to make meaningful contributions to the field through research, curation, and public engagement.
