Luciana Herman
Lecturer in Public Policy
Luciana Herman is the Program Director for the Law and Policy Lab at Stanford Law School. In this role, she collaborates with faculty to create immersive, hands-on policy projects that train students in policy analysis for real-world clients. Her responsibilities include coordinating the activities of the Policy Lab, such as operations, practicum deliverables, publications, social media, skills workshops, and other programs.12
In addition to her administrative duties, Dr. Herman is a Lecturer in Law at Stanford. She has co-taught the Copyright Policy Lab Practicum and supports all practicums with workshops and consultations to enhance students' policy analysis and communication skills.1 Her teaching experience extends to American literature, American Studies, and graduate pedagogy courses at the University of California, Berkeley. She also contributed to curriculum development at the Harvard Kennedy School Communications Program and served as a Head Preceptor in the Harvard College Expository Writing Program.1
Dr. Herman holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on political rhetoric. Her academic interests include American political speech, racial formation, immigration policy, and the policies that shaped the American republic.1 Additionally, she is involved in international education through her summer teaching at the Aspire Academy Romania Summer Institute.1
