Communications at Cornell Universty

The Office of Strategic Communications, within University Communications, leverages communications vehicles across the division to raise the visibility of Cornell University around the world. Works to align communications priorities that connect mission, goals, priorities, and accomplishments of administrative partners to internal and external audiences. Works closely with the Executive Director on the planning and day-to-day operations including documenting communications process and protocols to streamline and/or align with current best practices. Also works as needed with the AVP for University Communications and other members of University Relations. 

Partners closely with the colleges, schools, and the university administration through their respective communication directors or designated contacts to plan communications in support of news and events. Meets with key university staff, monitors large projects, meets regularly with other program managers, clients and stakeholders. May serve on university-level committees. 

Is the division’s communications planning point person for high-visibility university events.
