Liezl Van Riper

Liezl Van Riper is the Chief Development Officer (CDO) at New Story, a nonprofit organization focused on addressing the housing crisis by providing innovative housing solutions. She joined New Story as its first CDO in October 2023, bringing over 20 years of experience in social impact and fundraising to the role.35

Prior to her position at New Story, Liezl was a founding partner at Raise Up, where she specialized in accelerating fundraising efforts for high-impact social enterprises and nonprofits.1 She holds a Master's degree in International Development from The New School and has been involved with various organizations, including serving as Secretary for the Liberian Education Achievement & Resource Network (LEARN), where she worked to raise awareness and funds for Liberia's public education system.23

Liezl's extensive background in development and fundraising positions her to significantly contribute to New Story's mission of ensuring that everyone has access to housing.45
