I took a leap of faith and booked a one way ticket to Asia at the end of last year. It was the time to learn about new cultures, find new recipes, explore new religions by visiting temples/mosques/churches, deepen my yoga practice, trek to beautiful landscapes, volunteer with elementary schools to universities & get out of my comfort zone. 

Cambodia. India. Indonesia. Laos. Malaysia. Nepal. Singapore. Sri Lanka. Thailand. Vietnam. 

Starting in Vietnam, from it's beautiful deltas to the valleys in the north, I trekked to high peaks & dove with tropical fish. In Ho Chi Minh, where my first volunteer experience at the university inspired me to continue finding other opportunities to teach English. I visited temples throughout Cambodia and Laos, where I trekked into the jungle and spend a vast majority familiarizing myself with their levels of poverty and lifestyles. Across the river into Thailand, I found my next English teaching experience at a small school where I conversed, taught grammar and read.

Another passion I pursued is scuba diving. I took every opportunity to explore the big blue and continued my diving education with my advanced license in Thailand. My goal in the future is to attain my Dive Master's certification and another step I took towards that is my Nitrox certification in Indonesia. 

In Indonesia, I was committed to putting my yoga teacher training to the test and taught a few classes. Before I arrived in Indonesia, I spent two months traveling India and completed 200 hour yoga teacher training in Dharamsala. This was a huge accomplishment and something I had been working towards for years. Completing this training will allow me to share my love & knowledge to many. 

In the months before I was practicing yoga in Sri Lanka and Nepal. Sri Lanka was another great opportunity to volunteer at an orphanage, I cooked, cleaned & taught English. The joy the kids brought me inspired my next destination, to Nepal where I trekked to Everest base camp.

As a volunteer, I worked cohesively in a team by discussing, analyzing, and voting on a selection of topics and presenters for the conference. The whole team works countless hours to prepare for the event.

Supervised the pool area enforcing rules and maintaining a safe environment. As a swim instructor, teaching children the fundamentals of swimming with positivity and encouragement. Strong communication between the lifeguard staff helped keep the lifeguard rotation and swim lessons organized. Finally, great customer service towards each student and his/her parents.
