Lakmali Atapattu is a highly experienced scientist with a focus on cancer research spanning over a decade.

She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Oncology and Cancer Biology, as well as a B.Biomed (hons) degree with first-class honors, both from Monash University.

Currently, Lakmali Atapattu leverages her extensive knowledge in cancer research in the field of medical affairs across various cancer indications.

Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in groundbreaking projects, co-inventing two patents that have significantly contributed to the scientific community.

Lakmali Atapattu's professional journey includes roles such as Medical Manager in Immuno-Oncology at AstraZeneca and previous positions as Medical Science Liaison in Immuno-Oncology at MSD Australia & New Zealand, Conjoint Associate Lecturer at UNSW, and Postdoctoral Research Scientist at renowned institutions like Children's Cancer Institute, Hudson Institute of Medical Research, and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

Her academic achievements and diverse experiences also include roles such as a Teaching Associate, Junior Researcher, Research Assistant, and Technical Assistant at Monash University, demonstrating her multifaceted expertise in the field.

Furthermore, Lakmali Atapattu has contributed to research projects at various stages, including being a PhD scholar at Monash University, participating in Research in Action projects, and serving as a Summer Vacation Scholar at Prince Henry's Institute of Medical Research.
