Kyle McHugh, a multifaceted professional, has an extensive background in the beverage and hospitality industry. He studied International Business and Government at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, where he honed his skills in management, leadership, and marketing. He also pursued International business, sociology, psychology at Semester at Sea, which widened his perspectives and perspectives about global cultures and business. After completing his studies, Kyle explored various roles and businesses, starting as a bartender at "The Tombs" - Clyde's Restaurant Group and later moving up to the position of Manager at Houston's Restaurants. He became a certified sommelier and Corporate Beverage Training Manager at Weber Grill Restaurants before taking on the role of Lead Teacher Trainer at Kaplan, Inc.
Kyle's thirst for knowledge and excellence led him to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, which he hoped to apply in his business career. With his diverse skill set and passion for the beverage industry, Kyle became the Master of Whisky at Diageo, Faculty at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, and Proprietor at Drinks Over Dearborn. He then moved on to become the Corporate Beverage Director at Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, where he spearheaded the development and implementation of effective beverage programs that increased revenue and customer satisfaction.
Kyle's pursuit of success and excellence in the beverage industry led him to become the National President, Board of Directors (Chair 2017-present) at United States Bartenders' Guild (USBG). As the Director of Brand Advocacy at Samson & Surrey, he continues to share his knowledge and insights with aspiring bartenders and industry professionals by creating training programs, hosting lectures, and organizing events.
