Kyle Mahowald
Computational Linguist at UT Austin
Kyle Mahowald is an Assistant Professor of Linguistics at The University of Texas at Austin.14 He is a computational psycholinguist with research interests in computation, cognition, quantitative methods, and natural language processing (NLP).2
Mahowald received his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Brain and Cognitive Sciences department, where he worked in Ted Gibson's psycholinguistics lab.4 He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University, working with Dan Jurafsky and Dan McFarland.4 Prior to his current position at UT Austin, Mahowald was an Assistant Professor at UC Santa Barbara from 2020 to 2021.3
His research focuses on various aspects of language and cognition, including:
