Sihan Chen

Sihan Chen is a 4th-year Ph.D. student specializing in quantitative analysis in linguistics and cognitive science. With a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Miami, where Sihan graduated summa cum laude in December 2019 and minored in mathematics, the academic foundation is strong. Currently, Sihan works at the Tissue Biomechanics Lab focusing on intervertebral disc modeling and magnetic resonance image analysis. Proficient in Matlab programming and COMSOL simulations, Sihan's expertise extends to areas like thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, aeropropulsion, material science, automatic control, and quantum mechanics.

Sihan's academic journey includes pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cognitive Science at the renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology, showcasing a commitment to advanced learning and research. Past stints include roles like Assistant Scientist at SilicoSpine Inc., Research Assistant in the Tissue Biomechanics Lab at the University of Miami College of Engineering, Peer Tutor at the Camner Center for Academic Resources at the University of Miami, Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Miami College of Engineering, and Teaching Assistant at Diversity English.
