Kunal Menda

Kunal Menda is a driven and accomplished individual with a diverse educational background and a strong focus on advancing the field of robotics. Currently a PhD candidate in Aeronautics & Astronautics at Stanford University, Kunal's academic journey began in Bangalore, India. He pursued a unique 5-year double-degree program at Harvey Mudd College and Claremont McKenna College, earning a B.S. in Engineering and a B.A. in Economics, respectively.
Kunal's research is centered on enhancing robotic systems' intelligence in unfamiliar settings. His areas of expertise include system identification, model-based reinforcement learning, and optimal control, reflecting his dedication to pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence within robotics.
Kunal has gained valuable experience through various roles, including a Data Scientist and former Intern at BlackRock, an Accel Fellow at the Accel Leadership Program, and a Doctoral Candidate and former Research Assistant at the prestigious Stanford Intelligent Systems Laboratory. His past positions also include the De Pietro Fellowship in Civil Engineering at Harvey Mudd College, an Engineering Intern at Berkeley Engineering and Research, Inc., as well as roles at The CMC Student Investment Fund and the Lowe Institute of Political Economy.
