Kun Xu
Site Reliability Engineer
Kun Xu is a highly skilled and experienced individual with a background in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, and Linux system administration. With over 7 years of experience in Red Hat Linux administration, Telnet, SSH, SAN, NAS, NFS, Apache, LDAP, IPA, Bash shell programming, and configuration management with Ansible and CFEngine, Kun has worked on building infrastructures on AWS with Terraform and AWS CLI.
He has also worked on VMware ESXi virtualization technologies, vSphere vCenter, vMotion, VSA, High Availability, DRS, and Fault Tolerance while having a working knowledge of Cisco switch configuration. Moreover, Kun has experience in building backend web services and REST APIs using the Python Django framework and in website programming including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, basic AJAX, and Bootstrap.
Kun's expertise extends further to iOS application development with Swift, FPGA and VHDL programming, image and video editing software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere. With a Ph.D. in Microelectronics from Purdue University and BSEE in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Kun has worked in several organizations such as Venmo, Huobi Global, The Home Depot, GE Digital, and Cox Automotive Inc., gaining experience in high-performance computing environments and programming, distributed computing and GPGPU programming, MapReduce (Hadoop), and NVidia’s CUDA.
Kun also possesses valuable skills in materials optimization, team leadership, strategic and budget planning, equipment installation and start-up, III-V processing, written and oral communication, manufacturing metrology, and equipment matching.
