Kristen Whitney is a Ph.D. Candidate at Arizona State University with a focus on Ecohydrology. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Geological Sciences and is expected to graduate in 2022. Kristen is a Babbit Center Dissertation Fellow and aspires to secure a post-doctoral or faculty research position in the fields of climate, water, agricultural resource science, and geospatial data science. Kristen's current dissertation research, funded by NASA, involves assessing climate and land use impacts on water resources in the Colorado River Basin using advanced modeling techniques and geospatial data analysis. She is experienced in model formulation, large-scale data analysis using Python-based tools, high-performance computing, and stakeholder engagement, working towards improving decision-making processes under climate change uncertainties. Kristen has a strong academic background with a 4.0 GPA in both her Ph.D. and Master's degrees from Arizona State University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Geology from UCSC. She has held various positions including Graduate Research Assistant, Product Engineer Intern at Esri, Graduate Teaching Assistant, and internships at organizations such as USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency.
