Professor Kourosh Kalantar-Zadeh is a renowned Australian scientist with a vast body of work in materials sciences, electronics, and transducers.
He has authored and co-authored over 450 scientific papers and books and is highly regarded for his contributions to the fields of two-dimensional semiconductors, ingestible sensors, and liquid metals.
Among his notable achievements is the invention of the first ingestible chemical sensor and the human gas sensing capsule.
Kourosh Kalantar-Zadeh has a strong academic background, having pursued his education with a PhD from RMIT University, an MSc in Communications from the University of Tehran, and a BSc in Communications from Sharif University of Technology.
He has held several distinguished positions in various organizations, including serving as the Director of the Centre for Advanced Solid and Liquid based Electronics and Optics UNSW (CASLEO UNSW) at UNSW.
Additionally, he has been an Australian Research Council (ARC) Laureate Fellow, a Professor at UNSW, and held positions at institutions like RMIT University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and University of California, Los Angeles.
Prior to his academic career, Kourosh Kalantar-Zadeh also worked as an animator and illustrator for various newspapers, websites, and magazines nationwide.
