Dr. Kimberly Nava Eggett is an experienced educator with a focus on fostering equitable and inclusive educational environments.
With eighteen years in public education, she has served in various roles including leader, technology coach, and classroom teacher for K-5 and undergraduate/graduate students.
Currently, Dr. Nava Eggett is the Director of the Center for Diversity Education at UNC-Asheville, where she works towards systemic change through a racial equity lens.
Her academic journey includes a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership and Instructional Technology, a Master of Arts (MA) in Educational/Instructional Media Design, and Bachelor's degrees in Spanish and K-5 Elementary Education Licensure as well as K-12 Spanish Licensure.
She has held positions at Appalachian State University and University of North Carolina Asheville, including Educational Innovation + Engagement Coordinator, Adjunct Lecturer, Adjunct Professor, and Director of the Center for Diversity Education.
Dr. Nava Eggett's passion lies in preparing students for the challenges of both real and digital worlds by ensuring educational spaces cater to the needs of all individuals.
