    With 17 years of experience in the United States Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer, Kim has served onboard surface ships and shore commands, culminating in her role as the Deputy Director for the Office of Warrior and Family Support.

    In addition to her military service, Kim Mitchell has an educational background that includes a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from The George Washington University.

    Kim's extensive professional journey includes roles such as President & CEO of Veterans Village of San Diego, Consultant to the Department of Defense for the 50 Year Vietnam War Commemoration Committee, and President of the Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Services.

    Currently, Kim Mitchell serves on the boards of various renowned organizations like the Kaplan Public Service Foundation, Infinite Hero Foundation, Woody Williams Foundation, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. She is also part of the Advisory Committee for the Iraq Afghanistan Veterans of America and the Department of Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee for Homeless Veterans.

    Kim has been actively involved in supporting service members, veterans, and military families by creating grassroots solutions and establishing a nationwide network of support during their transition and reintegration process.
