    Prof. Khalid Abu-Salah is a highly accomplished professional with a background in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

    He holds a first degree from the American University of Beirut and pursued his PhD studies at the University of Leeds in the UK.

    Prof. Abu-Salah was among the pioneering biochemists recruited by the University of London to teach Medical Biochemistry at the Medical College of King Saud University in Saudi Arabia.

    A key figure in establishing the Biochemistry department and MSc program at the university, he has taught a variety of courses to students with diverse science backgrounds.

    With fellowship status from the Institute of Biomedical Science (FIBMS) in the UK since 1993, Prof. Abu-Salah has been actively involved in academia and research.

    He has been an editorial board member for Biochemical Education by the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and has an extensive publication record in peer-reviewed journals along with several patents.

    Additionally, he is an accomplished author and translator of biochemistry-related books.

    Prof. Abu-Salah played a crucial role as a co-founder of the King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology (KAIN) at King Saud University in 2008 and holds a visiting professor status at various European and South East Asian Universities.

    Transitioning to the King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC) in 2014, he has been actively involved in establishing a Nanomedicine Department and currently leads the nano-biotechnology laboratory at KAIMRC.

    Under his leadership, the laboratory focuses on projects related to aptamer-based and protease-based biosensors, lab-on-a-chip applications, nano-diagnostics, and nano-drug formulation and delivery.
