Kevin Overton has over 30 years of experience in the environmental field, managing environmental compliance, planning, and pollution prevention. His current position with the City of Dallas Office of Environmental Quality focuses on air pollution reduction through energy-efficient buildings and alternative commute programs. With a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Texas Wesleyan University, Overton has held various positions in environmental science, engineering, and consulting with companies like LTV Aerospace and Defense, METCO Environmental, and Benham Infrastructure and Environment.
Overton's expertise lies in environmental compliance, pollution prevention, atmospheric dispersion modeling, wetlands delineation, and biological surveys. He has also guided departments in achieving the ISO 14001 certification and sustainability goals. Overton is a member of the city's EMS team which received certification for its city-wide Environmental Management System (EMS) and achieved acceptance into the prestigious EPA National Environmental Performance Track (NEPT) program.
